Dear First Year students,
I hope that you are comfortable in college / hostel.
I am confident that you are attending your theory and laboratory classes daily without any excuse;
It has been raining continuously since the first day of your classes but that should not be a reason for laxity in your studies. Please take good care of your health. Stay indoor and engage in scheduled study / relaxation / discussion with colleagues or other productive activities;
The ONLY ‘Mantra’ for guaranteed success in forthcoming Internal Assessment – I and then the final examination is “daily study and lot of practice” (reading, writing, and speaking) of all the subjects;
Those of you who have already started regular study, I appreciate their dedication and commitment.
Those of you who have NOT yet started regular studies, please do not waste any more time otherwise you will regret later;
I am informed that some students have registered their laptop with our IT service incharge, and they have requested for wi-fi access; It is encouraging to know that our students are tech-savvy. However, other students who do not have a laptop at present should NOT have any inferiority complex. I am sure that in due course they will also have one laptop. In the meantime they will have to prove themselves in academics by doing well in studies.
A word of caution for students who own a laptop and are using it in their room. A laptop cannot be a substitute/replacement for self-study and hard work that are essential in Engineering degree programmes. If the laptop is misused then a year loss is the least that can be expected. So please use it for acquiring constructive and productive knowledge and to gain an edge over others in a positive sense.
I also urge you NOT to become addicted to mobile phone. If you are not able to concentrate on studies because of mobile phone or any other avoidable distraction then please take corrective action immediately before it is too late.
With best wishes.
